I am a musician. I play guitar (mostly though not exclusively jazz), I sing, write and arrange music and produce records for other people. Music is not what I do. Music is who I am. As you can imagine, there are few things more frightening to a musician than to lose his/her hearing. In recording studios, where one sometimes calibrate shades and levels of sound to a minute degree and where excellent hearing is the number one requirement. With one ear out of commission and feeling as if cement had been poured down the ear canal, I saw my future collapse in front of my eyes. Read more here
