Any HLAA chapter or support group, in Florida or elsewhere, HLAA state associations, HLAA national and partner organizations can list events here at no cost. Use the event form to send the date, time, place or Zoom link, a short description and any flyer. We review every submission and post it for you.

Common questions

Are there support groups for hearing loss in Florida?

Yes. HLAA chapters and support groups meet in cities across Florida, and HLAA-FL hosts captioned Zoom meetings that anyone in the state can join. Meetings are free and open to people with hearing loss, family members and friends. The chapters page lists each group and how to reach it.

Are online meetings captioned?

Yes. HLAA-FL Zoom meetings use live captions, and HLAA national webinars and virtual meetings are captioned too. You can turn captions on inside Zoom once the host enables them. If you have trouble seeing captions, tell the host in the chat and they will help.

Why is my local chapter not on the calendar?

Chapters run their own meetings and not every chapter sends us dates. Check the chapter's own page or website for the latest schedule. If you lead a chapter, use the Submit your event form on this page and we will add your meetings to this calendar.

Do chapters meet in the summer?

Many Florida chapters meet from September through May and pause for the summer, when seasonal residents travel. Some meet year-round or move to Zoom. Confirm with the chapter before you go, and use HLAA-FL and national online meetings to stay connected during the break.
