Every HLAA chapter and support group in Florida, with meeting schedules where we have them. All meetings are free and open to people with hearing loss, family and friends.
Looking for a hearing loss support group in Florida? HLAA-FL is the Florida State Association of the Hearing Loss Association of America, and this is the full list of our chapters and support groups. The state association serves all of Florida, including Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville, Sarasota, Gainesville, Palm Beach, Fort Myers, Tallahassee and Pensacola. Not every city has a chapter meeting today. Where one is on hold or inactive, we say so, and you can still join a statewide Zoom meeting or help us restart the group.

Join a captioned Zoom meeting from anywhere in Florida, or talk to us about starting a chapter or support group in your community. Three interested people are enough to begin.
Yes. HLAA chapters and support groups meet in person across Florida, and HLAA-FL and HLAA national both host online meetings with live captions. Groups are peer-led, free and open to anyone with hearing loss along with family and friends. Meetings mix practical topics like hearing aids and captioning with time to talk with people who understand.
How much does it cost to attend a chapter meeting?+
Nothing. Chapter and support group meetings are free. Some chapters collect optional local dues to cover room costs or a newsletter, and HLAA national membership is a separate, optional way to support the organization. You can attend for as long as you like without joining anything.
What happens at an HLAA chapter meeting?+
Most meetings run about 90 minutes. There is usually a speaker or a topic, such as new hearing technology, Medicare coverage, or coping with hearing loss at work, followed by open discussion. Meetings use captions, a hearing loop or an assistive listening system so everyone can follow along. Newcomers are welcomed and never put on the spot.
My city is not on the list. What now?+
Start with the statewide Zoom meetings and the national virtual chapters, which anyone in Florida can join. Then tell us where you are. If a few people in your area are interested, HLAA-FL will connect you with the national chapter development team and help you get a support group going.
Can I attend a chapter in another part of Florida?+
Yes. Chapters welcome visitors from anywhere. Snowbirds and people who travel for work often attend more than one chapter over the course of a year. Check the chapter page for the schedule and email ahead if you are not sure a meeting is on that month.
Volunteer with a Florida chapter
Chapters run on volunteers with lived experience. Greeters, tech helpers, speakers and leaders are all needed.
